Easter Weekend At Hampton Court Palace and Clapham Common

Slightly later than planned, it’s our round-up of the Easter weekend! Thankfully the forecast wet weather held off for the most part, and we were able to get open with our fairs at Clapham Common and Hampton Court Palace. As well as welcoming local south Londoners, we were lucky enough to be visited by lots of funfair enthusiasts, some of whom had travelled very far indeed to see us!

One gentleman came over from Holland to visit our fairs, and Will of UK Funfairs TV made the trek down from Yorkshire for his first-ever visit to one of George Irvin’s fairs. He shot this great video showcasing a selection of our funfair rides, and a fun on-ride video of the waltzer.

Thank you to Will of UK Funfairs TV – currently celebrating five years on Youtube!

We also got to see Joshua AKA Fairgroundking1, Martin of Fair-Pix: Est. 2000, and David of Chasing Coasters. Martin has been visiting Hampton Court for nearly 30 years now and is also a Honorary Member of the Showmen’s Guild’s London Section.

We would particularly like to thank Martin for his kind words regarding our attempts to take care of the ground at Hampton Court Palace. He noted, “extreme care has been taken to protect the grass after so much recent rainfall with a metal track”.

If you’re an enthusiast who visited, let us know in the comments or email us with your pics and videos at zoah@irvinleisure.com.
