Another update on the Irvin Family History

Now here is the latest news! A very good friend of ours, Raymond Foster, has sent the following email to us:

Following on from our telephone conversation here is the Family Tree so far:

They had the following children all of whom were born in Hackney, Middlesex

Mary Irvin (1839) married Robert Cracknell born 1861 in Tooting, Surrey

Laura – born 1861 married her cousin James Foster (1857).

Robert – born 1863

Most of the above has come from fitting pieces of jigsaw together. Most of the early male Irvins in my tree were bricklayers and a Census appearance is a rarity. William Irvin (1803) only appears in the 1851 Census. After that William Irvin (1835) turns up in the 1881 Census where he is living a few doors up from his sister Martha in Boleyn Road, Hackney. After that nothing.

And more often than not when I have followed a clue I’ve hit a brick wall – so you can imagine that if this piece of the jigsaw fits into your own tree I think I might be a bit over the moon.

SO, WE NOW KNOW THAT WILLIAM IRVIN WHO MARRIED HARRIET WAS BORN IN HACKNEY IN 1865 AND HIS FATHER WAS A BRICKLAYER (WHICH IS WHY MAYBE THAT RAYMOND HIT A BRICK WALL!) WE ALWAYS THOUGHT WILLIAM WAS A CARPENTER, AND THAT NOW MAKES SENSE. SO HOW ABOUT A BIT OF HELP FOR RAYMOND AND KEITH, AND US, ON WHERE THEY ALL LIVED?
